The person behind Sensible Orbit

Hi, I’m Arik.

I like making complicated things easier to work with.

Arik Cohen · Founder, Sensible Orbit

I’ve spent much of my career figuring out what people need from a product and how to turn that into something useful. The questions that interest me are often pretty straightforward: Why does this take so long? Where is this getting stuck? Could we make it easier?

I started Sensible Orbit to bring that same curiosity to small businesses and nonprofits. We’ll look at how things work today, where they get tangled, and what would make a real difference.

My background on LinkedIn

Experience, put to use

A product background.
A practical perspective.

I bring 30 years of experience in product and program management at Microsoft and Meta, across applications, games, and platforms.

Product work brings together questions that matter in any organization: What problem are we solving? Who needs this to work? What’s getting in the way? And what would a useful improvement actually look like?

That’s the perspective I bring to consulting. I can work through the technical details, but the starting point is your day-to-day work: the handoffs, repeated tasks, scattered information, and decisions that take more effort than they should.

My nonprofit board experience adds another perspective: making thoughtful choices when time, resources, and attention all need to stretch.

Some of the work

Making more possible.

My work has often been about giving other people the tools and capabilities to do something new.

Meta · Quest & VR

Presence Platform for Quest developers

My work at Meta focused on virtual reality with Quest. As a technical program manager, I led the effort to bring mixed reality features to Presence Platform, enabling Quest developers to build experiences that combine digital content with the physical world.

Helping an AI assistant take action

I drove the platform work in Meta Horizon OS that enabled the AI assistant to carry out tasks through the operating system. I also led efforts to improve internal quality metrics, with a focus on making those capabilities work better for customers.

Bringing Android apps to Quest

I worked on enabling developers to bring Android applications, both web and native, into the Quest ecosystem.

Microsoft

Games built for cloud streaming

I was the product manager responsible for the Xbox Cloud Gaming developer platform, enabling games such as Minecraft Dungeons to optimize for the streaming experience.

Licensing across Windows, Xbox, and Office

I drove the backend licensing services that powered Windows, Xbox, and Office—the systems behind how software access was managed across those products.

Working together

Start with the problem.
Keep the solution useful.

At Sensible Orbit, you work directly with me. We’ll start by understanding what’s happening, what’s frustrating, and what a better outcome would mean for you.

From there, I’ll help identify practical next steps—whether that’s clarifying a process, connecting existing tools, or creating something new. The goal is an improvement you can use and keep using.

Sometimes it’s about doing more with what you already have.

Room for curiosity

Useful is good.
Fun is good, too.

Sensible Orbit is also a home for independent products and mobile games. I enjoy exploring ideas, figuring out how things work, and making something people want to come back to.

Some ideas make the workday easier. Some make a spare ten minutes more enjoyable. There’s room for both.
